Keen on nature, animals? Dreaming of adventures or fun activities?
Here are our top three suggestions for young explorers.
For our little alchimists: Le Cep Enchanté
At Macqueville, enjoy “La Vigne Ludique”, an educational trail that explains tending the vine and the winemaker’s job. If you accept the mission, your role is to respond to a quiz for adults and children or to resolve a number of puzzles on a tablet. Try out the adventurous XO ESCAPE GAME in order to discover the original recipe for producing the famous cognac.
As a family, try a round of Swing Golf for a moment of relaxation on a 9-hole course set between vines and truffle oaks. Quite a programme!
For animal-lovers : l’Asinerie du Baudet du Poitou
Explore the world of the Baudet du Poitou at Dampierre-sur-Boutonne in this protected natural setting at the forest’s edge – it’s a place of discovery, breeding and use of the oldest breed of donkeys in France. Get close and stroke the donkeys, and depending on the season, even the foals. Go for a donkey-back ride or even a picnic with a saddled donkey on the bucolic paths near the farm.At the end of the visit, the children will find it really difficult to leave these adorable cuddly creatures with their characteristic “dreadlock-style” coats.
For the more adventurous:le Port Miniature
Head for l’île de la Grenouillette at Le Mung / Saint-Savinien-sur-Charente : your children will be hopping up and down with impatience to embark on one of the fleet of 18 scale model boats. Having chosen a model – cargo ship, paddlewheel steamer, tug – and put on his/her cap, the captain for the day takes command to navigate on the lake. Each boat must have at least one child on board, even if adults are permitted!
Once back on dry land, a new paradise for children is on offer: inflatable games and old merry-go-rounds.
