A friendly family welcome in this wine farm with typical 18th century Saintonge architecture. Charentais porch, closed courtyard, copper still. For a nice discovery of the local and traditional flavours of the Charentes. Tell us about your farm? My husband took over the farm from his parents in 2000, I arrived in 2001 and we started selling directly in 2003. We changed everything around a bit to do things our way. First of all, we stopped dairy farming, then we developed our range of products, reviewed our cognacs and created our wines, our grape juices... A large part of our eaux de vie still goes to the trade and with the rise of cognac, we could stop there. But it is so pleasant to be able to elaborate one's product from beginning to end, from the vine to the bottle. How do you work? We are not organic, but we are committed to integrated pest management and especially to the "Ecophyto Farm" approach (DEPHY system)*. It's very interesting to try to work better, with respect for the land. Our driving force is above all quality: treating the land well, so that it gives us good harvests that we transform with passion and know-how to be proud of our products and to please our customers. That's what we like! * The Ecophyto approach aims to promote and deploy agricultural techniques and systems that reduce the use of plant protection products while promoting economically, environmentally and socially efficient techniques. 12 Ecophyto farms in the department
