The Musée des Cordeliers, which has been awarded the Musée de France label, invites you to discover its unpublished collection linked to the Citroën expeditions in Africa and Asia (1922-1932). Entrusted by Louis Audouin-Dubreuil, second-in-command, Angérien, and Maurice Penaud, chief mechanic, ethnographic works, a rich iconography including drawings by the artist Alexandre Iacovleff and an authentic caterpillar transmit the memory of these mythical adventures. In addition, collections of furniture, ceramics and goldsmith's work are a precious testimony to the history of the area. Each year, attractive and participatory temporary exhibitions explore themes linked to the Histories from here and Cultures from elsewhere that form the identity of the institution. In progress, "The Odyssey of Angerian Cognac" retraces the history of the local cognac houses, at the origin of a true golden age that profoundly transformed the town from the second half of the 17th century to the beginning of the 20th century. Little adventurers, game booklets are at your disposal to discover the collections! Guided and unusual workshop visits and Escape Games are also available for families on reservation. Free, open every day except Mondays, December 25th, January 1st and May 1st. Out of season: closed mornings and Tuesdays.
