The school in Vergné was a one-room school in a rural setting. Opened in 1892, at the time of Jules Ferry's laws, it closed when it was just over a hundred years old. The school-museum has become a place where the memory of the schools of the Third Republic is preserved and kept alive, and you are invited to take a guided tour lasting around an hour. Perhaps you'll recall some of your childhood memories. Younger children will discover a world that no longer exists: black lab coats, writing morals with a pen (with practical exercises), the mixed smell of wax and ink... Every year, a temporary exhibition complements the permanent collection. There is also a picnic and play area next to the museum.
