Members of the association Les Amis de Saint-Savinien et sa région (Friends of Saint-Savinien and the surrounding area) welcome you to the Maison du Patrimoine, 24, quai du Port, on the banks of the Charente. With them, you can discover all the treasures of our local and regional heritage. Our rural museum with its ancient tools, our collection of stones, prehistoric flints and Gallo-Roman artefacts. You'll find out all about our old trades of inland waterway transport, quarrying and shipbuilding. All of this is enhanced by photos, models, plans, documents and even a cannonball from the Hermione La Fayette! And of course our charming 12th-century sailors' chapel.
