Récital de luth avec Valéry Sauvage : "Voyage musical à la Renaissance"
Come and enjoy the lute recital at the Château de Dampierre. The pieces performed by Valéry Sauvage during this two-part concert will transport you back to the Renaissance era, set against the backdrop of this architectural gem. Recital title: "A Musical Journey through the Renaissance – From Venice to Edinburgh" The aim of this concert is to introduce the lute, a very popular instrument during the Renaissance, through a musical tour of Europe at that time. About Valéry Sauvage Originally a classical guitarist, Valéry Sauvage subsequently turned his attention to Renaissance music and its premier instrument, the lute. He pursued his musical studies in the Early Music Department at the Toulouse Conservatoire, under the tutelage of Rolf Lislevand and Béatrice Pornon, whilst also benefiting from the guidance of Laurence Postigo. His musical journey has also led him to take lessons with leading specialists such as Eugène Ferré, Paul O’Dette and Pascale Boquet. In addition to the lute, he also plays related instruments: the Renaissance guitar, the vihuela, and Baroque and Romantic guitars. About the Château de Dampierre-sur-Boutonne A jewel of the Renaissance, the Dampierre estate nestles in the Boutonne valley, at the heart of a meander of enchanted little islands where French-style parterres, a boxwood maze and flower-filled meadows unfold. The château itself is an architectural gem with its sculpted gallery featuring mysterious alchemical motifs. It has hosted prestigious visitors, from François I to Louis XIII, not to mention Salvador Dalí.
