false Could you tell us about the vineyard and its history? In the vineyard’s history, the 3Cs represent the sixth generation of winegrowers at the estate, whose winemaking activities span more than fifty years. Currently, the estate covers around fifty hectares, dedicated to the production of Cognac, Pineau des Charentes and sparkling wines. The main grape variety is Folle Blanche, complemented by other varieties such as Chardonnay for sparkling wines, Sauvignon and Merlot for still wines, as well as Colombar, a secondary variety used for Cognac. Over the last thirty years, the vineyard has undergone a significant transformation: it covered ten hectares 25 to 30 years ago and has gradually expanded, reaching 50 hectares today. The name ‘3C’ was adopted when the estate began selling bottled wine, at a time when three generations of the Chartier family were working together on the estate; the ‘C’ stands for Chartier. Have you always wanted to be a winegrower? I initially considered becoming an oenologist but then decided to focus on the basics. Throughout my studies, I realised the value of fully showcasing our products by selling them in bottles rather than through the wine trade. After returning to the estate, the idea took hold of developing not only wines, but also brandies, Cognacs and Pineau, in order to cover the entire value chain and express, through our terroir, a unique and authentic identity.   What are your specialities?   In addition to our four Cognacs, ranging from VS to XO and aged between five and thirty-five years, we have been offering a speciality since last year: a Mojito base made from Cognac macerated for several days with mint leaves. This slightly alcoholic and slightly sweet mixture can be used to create refreshing drinks by adding soft drinks such as lemonade or sparkling water, whilst retaining a distinct minty note. In addition, we produce sparkling wines, a natural wine, a passion fruit-flavoured wine, and a sparkling Pineau, which is characteristic of the region.  This is a product made from carbonated Pineau, offering a touch of freshness thanks to its fine bubbles, and providing an alternative to traditional Pineau. This speciality is also available in a range of novelty bottles, such as those shaped like a horse or a violin, tailored to suit different interests. These attractive presentations make for sophisticated gifts. We also offer 50 cl mini-bottles for weddings, birthdays or collectors, as well as a variety of sizes for Pineau.
