Join Harald and Landry at the heart of Jacques Cœur’s trial in Taillebourg. Once friends, now enemies, they find themselves caught between justice, revenge and redemption… will they remain enemies forever? Les Baladins du Comté de Taillebourg present their new production in the heart of the exceptional setting of Taillebourg Castle. As night falls, the audience is invited to discover an original narrative tracing the intertwined destinies of two characters, Harald and Landry, childhood friends who became enemies over the centuries. This new production forms part of a trilogy and is set against the backdrop of the famous trial of Jacques Cœur, an iconic figure of the 15th century, who was arrested in Taillebourg in 1451. The show offers a journey into history, brought to life by dynamic staging, passionate actors, period costumes and meticulous visual effects. Combining a legal intrigue, a journey through time and a mysterious quest, this performance is suitable for all audiences. Free activities from 2.00 pm: As every year, free activities are on offer before the show for the enjoyment of young and old alike. For this year’s event, the historical re-enactment group Légion VI Aquitaniae from Angeriacium offers an immersion in the Roman world of the 1st and 2nd centuries AD. This historical re-enactment troupe performs regularly at numerous Gallo-Roman sites in Nouvelle-Aquitaine (Barzan, Saintes, Sanxay, Chassenon…) as well as throughout France, in collaboration with the Légion VI Ferrata. On the programme: a tour of the camp (5 tents and camp equipment), an opening parade with the standards, a presentation of the equipment and an insight into the way of life of Roman legionaries. These events are supported by Taillebourg Town Hall, whom we thank for their commitment to promoting the culture and history of the town. Catering and public reception: Catering is available on site before the show, allowing spectators to fully enjoy the evening in a friendly atmosphere.
