A friendly family welcome in this wine farm with typical 18th century Saintonge architecture. Charentais porch, closed courtyard, copper still. For a nice discovery of the local and traditional flavours of the Charentes. Could you tell us about your farm? I took over my parents’ farm in 2000 and relaunched direct sales in 2003 by expanding my product range – including cognac and pineau – and by introducing a new range of wines and grape juice… How do you work? We are committed to sustainable farming, following the ‘Ferme Ecophyto’ scheme (DEPHY programme) and holding CEC and HVE* certification. It’s very rewarding to strive to work better, whilst respecting the land. My driving force is, above all, quality: treating the land well so that it yields good harvests, which I then transform with passion and expertise so that I can be proud of my products and delight our customers. * An initiative aimed at promoting and implementing agricultural techniques and systems that reduce the use of plant protection products, whilst promoting techniques that are economically, environmentally and socially effective. There are 12 Ecophyto farms in the department.
