Using your smartphone or GPS, set off to discover this rich and unsuspected heritage and take part in a quiz. It's a great idea for a family outing. Prignac nestles on the banks of the River Antenne, a small, leafy village with a wealth of flora and fauna. The discovery in 1995 of a Merovingian necropolis attests to the village's existence in the Middle Ages. Prignac's distinctive feature is its town hall, built in 1911 in the style of a typical seaside villa. Plaster quarrying changed part of the village's landscape. Also worth seeing is the "Oak of François 1er", which is thought to have been planted on the birth of this Charentais king in 1494 or at his coronation in 1515.
