Admire and play – at the château of Neuvicq!
Its towers stand proudly at the bend of a valley in the heart of the “Fins Bois” delimited area of cognac. Surrounded by hillsides decorated with vines, the 15th century château of Neuvicq-le-Château was built in the Flamboyant Gothic style. The most famous of its owners, the Marquis of Montespan updated the property in the 17th century.
Apart from visiting the heritage site, there are many more opportunities for visitors: an impressive pedagogic model of the château is exhibited; an escape game for families or friends in a mysterious room of the château; enjoy a variety of exhibitions of artists’ work that are regularly showcased.

The Château de Dampierre-sur-Boutonne is a jewel of Renaissance architecture in the Boutonne valley that displays its gardens “à la française” in a box maze and a poplar grove.
From the very start, art and culture have permeated the château which is constantly updating its programme of activities and fun trails. Magical nocturnal walks, festival of enchanted islands, exhibitions of painting or sculpture – there’s something for everyone and every taste. Parents and children alike will not want to miss the “Mardi Gr’âne” event held in conjunction with the Baudet du Poitou donkey sanctuary!
The châteaux of Saintonge, living heritage!
Property of the Authon family, one of the oldest and most influential families in Saintonge, the château is surrounded by a water-filled moat and a park “à l’anglaise”. The gardens are planted with cedars, magnolias and fruit trees and add charm to this stately home. To visit, a privileged and passionate experience, all you have to do is ring the bell and enter the site.
The impressive feudal château of Villeneuve-la-Comtesse has changed from its role as a protector to being a haven for artists; artists in residence, open to the public.
The château of Beaufief, at Mazeray close to Saint-Jean-d’Angély offers its 8ha park for live performances. The “Beaufiefs’tYval” brings all generations together with circus, games and music in the most convivial of ways.
